Lars & Heather {Dowtown Phoenix Engagement Session}

I recently spent a morning with this cute couple for their engagement session in Downtown Phoenix (where they got engaged!). I gave them my usual pep talk before we started (i.e. I know it's totally awkward having someone tell you to make out for an hour, but by the end of this experience it'll probably feel normal) and quickly realized it wasn't necessary. They are super affectionate and totally in love. A lot of that probably had to do with the fact that they have a long distance relationship. :( Like many of our couples, they met online. The only unusual thing about it is that the match service they used selected her (from AZ) for him (from and currently living in Norway). So they're currently long distance, but hopefully not for long. Can't wait for this Spring wedding!

Beautiful 34 Week (or so) Belly

Maternity sessions are officially my absolute favorite type of portrait session. They are fun and exciting and I usually get to meet the little papoose right after they're born! This beautiful lady is due to have her first baby (a GIRL!) in late October. Doesn't she look AMAZING?! We had so much fun during her session. She had some fantastic ideas and has totally embraced her beautiful figure, which I love! Here's a few of my favorites. She's already seen all of these, so they aren't really "teasers", but fun to post nonetheless. :)

 This was such a fun session! This future Mommy loves anything active and although I was a little hesitant when she mentioned the rollerblading idea (34 weeks pregnant and rollerblading?!), it turned out awesome!  :)

30 years in photos!

Recently, for my 30th birthday, my Dad gave me a photo album. It's a simple red album with an orange tie to hold it together (think Moleskine style, except as a photo album). He filled every slot with photos from the first 30 years of my life! From birth, to birthdays, holidays, family, childhood friends, adult friends, pets, vacations... EVERYTHING! They're not even copies. Original photos from my life. It's amazing!

My favorite pic is in the very back. It's a bad photo from when my parent's were dating. I've been on a mission to find photos of my parent's together in the 70's (or pre-1974), but haven't been able to get my hands on any... until now. They are both decked out in super hippy attire and my Mom has platinum blonde hair. My Dad's forehead is cut off, it's faded, turning yellow and the corners are a little bent, but it's really special! I want to buy a fireproof/waterproof safe just to keep this amazing gift safe...

Baby Jillian {Day 12}

I recently spent a couple of days in San Diego and was lucky enough to meet this adorable baby girl! She’s already super special, but this little sweet pea was born on the best day of the year… my birthday! How amazing is that? Pretty awesome in my book (can you tell I love my birthday???)!

She refused to sleep while we photographed her. None of the tricks to make a newborn sleep would work. She wasn’t fussy (or anymore fussy than a usual newborn) or mad, just wide-awake. So we clicked away and got some cute AWAKE newborn photos.  Seriously, we only have one image with her eyes closed and that was when she happened to get a little upset with us, but it didn’t last long. Daniel & Kirstie are married!!!

Daniel & Kirstie are a sweet couple who were married in an intimate ceremony with their families and close friends in Fountain Hills this past weekend. Daniel is in the navy and stationed outside of AZ, which made the day just a little more special. Everyone was so excited to see him HOME and also witness these two lovebirds tie the knot! Wedding Book Love

I was so excited to hand this book over that I wrapped it all up and realized that I had forgotten to take a few quick shots to share. Not to worry, I did manage to remember, but if only you could see it in person.  Not to pat myself on the back, but I totally loved this album. I couldn't wait to hand it over (and I couldn't even do it in person so I didn't get to see their reaction, but I think they're happy :))!
